RTLS

Real-Time Location System

Know Where Everything Is.
Inside and Out.

Track assets in real time across indoor and outdoor environments with BLE, LoRaWAN, and GPS — unified on one platform.

Zone-level indoor accuracy. GPS outdoor tracking. Accelerometer-driven battery intelligence that makes trackers last years, not months.

The Problem

Your assets don’t disappear — your visibility does.

Industrial teams lose thousands of hours per year searching for equipment, tools, and inventory. Manual tracking breaks down at scale. Spreadsheets go stale the moment someone moves a forklift. And by the time you realize something is missing, it’s already cost you.

Ghost Inventory

Assets show as “available” in your system but no one can find them on the floor. Teams waste 30+ minutes per shift searching for equipment that should be right where the spreadsheet says it is.

30+minutes per shift lost to searching

Blind Zones

GPS works outdoors. Wi-Fi works in the office. But the warehouse, the yard, and the loading dock? You have no visibility where it matters most — in the transition zones between indoor and outdoor.

60%of facilities have coverage gaps

Battery Drain

Traditional trackers transmit on a fixed schedule whether the asset moved or not. Batteries die in weeks. Replacing thousands of tracker batteries across a facility is a full-time job nobody signed up for.

3–6months typical tracker battery life

Disconnected Systems

Indoor tracking on one platform. Outdoor on another. Neither talks to your operations system. You end up with three dashboards, three logins, and no single source of truth for where anything actually is.

How It Works

Five layers. One continuous signal.

From the tracker on your asset to the dashboard on your screen — every layer is purpose-built for industrial environments where reliability isn’t optional.

1

Tracker

Rides with the asset. BLE, LoRaWAN, or GPS depending on use case.

Accelerometer detects motion before transmitting — stationary assets stay silent, preserving battery for years instead of months.

2

Location Hub

Fixed receivers every 40–50 feet. Battery, DC, or solar powered.

BLE proximity detection for zone-level indoor accuracy. Each hub knows its position and reports which trackers it can hear.

3

Gateway

Aggregates hub data and relays via LoRaWAN to the network server.

Ethernet + cellular backhaul for redundancy. One gateway covers an entire facility wing.

4

Network Server (LNS)

IoT SimpleLink® processes all LoRaWAN traffic — fully managed, auto-scaling.

Device management, session handling, and data routing without provisioning a single server.

5

ArgusIQ™ Platform

Maps, geofences, rules, alerts, and history — all in one place.

Ask Argus where anything is. Get answers in natural language with full audit trail.

Technology Stack

Three radios. One intelligent system.

Each technology handles what it does best. BLE for indoor proximity. LoRaWAN for long-range relay. GPS for outdoor coordinates. The accelerometer decides when to use any of them.

Bluetooth Low Energy

Zone-level indoor positioning using fixed Location Hubs. Trackers broadcast BLE advertisements that hubs triangulate to determine which zone an asset occupies.

  • Zone-level accuracy (room/bay/dock)
  • Range: 40–50 feet per hub
  • Ultra-low power consumption
  • iBeacon and Eddystone compatible

LoRaWAN

Long-range, low-power relay from gateways to the network server. LoRaWAN carries tracker data kilometers on a single transmission — ideal for sprawling industrial sites.

  • Range: up to 10 km line-of-sight
  • Sub-GHz ISM band (915 MHz US)
  • AES-128 encryption
  • Bi-directional Class A/B/C

GPS

Outdoor coordinate tracking for assets that leave the facility. GPS activates only when the accelerometer detects motion outdoors — no wasted battery on parked trailers.

  • Meter-level outdoor accuracy
  • Motion-activated only
  • Geofence boundary triggers
  • Route history and playback

Accelerometer

The intelligence layer. Every tracker has a built-in accelerometer that detects motion, orientation, and shock. Assets that aren’t moving don’t transmit — extending battery life from months to years.

  • Motion detection before transmit
  • Shock and tilt alerts
  • Configurable sensitivity thresholds
  • Battery life: 3–5 years typical
Hardware

Purpose-built for industrial environments.

Every device is designed for the conditions it will face — dust, vibration, temperature extremes, and years of unattended operation.

Trackers

Compact devices that ride with assets. Multiple form factors from credit-card BLE beacons to rugged BLE + LoRaWAN + GPS units for outdoor fleets.

  • BLE-only: smallest form factor, 5-year battery
  • BLE + LoRaWAN: facility-wide range, 3-year battery
  • BLE + LoRaWAN + GPS: full indoor/outdoor, 2-year battery
  • IP67 rated options for harsh environments
  • Accelerometer standard on all models

Location Hubs

Fixed receivers deployed every 40–50 feet throughout your facility. Each hub listens for BLE tracker advertisements and reports what it hears upstream.

  • Battery, DC, or solar powered options
  • Indoor and outdoor rated models
  • Mesh networking for redundancy
  • Self-reporting health and battery status
  • Mount anywhere: wall, ceiling, pole

Gateways

LoRaWAN gateways that aggregate data from Location Hubs and relay to the network server. One gateway covers an entire facility wing.

  • Ethernet + cellular dual backhaul
  • Indoor and outdoor enclosures
  • Supports 1,000+ simultaneous devices
  • Automatic failover between connections
  • Remote firmware updates via IoT SimpleLink®
